The 77th Asheville Holiday Parade, presented by Bojangles of WNC is back on November 18th from 11-1pm!
Before the parade there will be the Onesie One Miler hosted by Kick It Events. The Onesie One Miler is a festive downtown dash to the finish line that’s fun for the entire family! This race starts at 10:30AM, right before the beginning of the Asheville Holiday Parade. Get dressed up in your holiday best and join us for a run through Downtown Asheville! Onesies encouraged but not required. There will be special awards for the best Onesie. A commemorative beanie is included in registration! Registration link below:

The Parade itself with have 60 plus parade entries following the Theme of Snow Globe.
The beginning of the parade will have the Grand Marshall Float sponsored by Telco Community Credit Union honoring the Volunteers of Asheville. This year’s Grand Marshall’s are Rosie Palmisano and Yvonne Cook-Riley, representing the amazing volunteers of Asheville and honoring their 35 plus years of service to all the local events that make Asheville special. There will also be the traditional Veterans Float, sponsored by the Restoration Hotel, honoring the sacrifice our veterans have made for our Country. Other parade entries will be marching bands, jump ropers, martial arts, front line workers, classic cars, School of Rock, La Zoom, and many more fun community members showing their holiday spirit. The final float ,sponsored by NC Arboretum, will bring in the parade’s finale with Santa and Mrs. Claus!
Following the parade there will be pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Restoration Hotel from 2-4pm.

A big thank you to our sponsors: Bojangles of WNC, Ingles Markets, NC Arboretum, Telco Community Credit Union, Restoration Hotel Asheville, Sun Soo Martial Arts, Kudzu Brands, iHeart Radio, Aloft Hotel, A Look At Asheville, Asheville Color and Imaging, and more.

UPDATE: We need to be ready to march by 10:45am on Saturday at position #41 which should be about halfway along the staging area on South Charlotte Street (see map). Parade begins at 11am and expected to last about 1.5 hours…but add lag time because that’s how parades go, plus include time to walk back to your parking spot.

Some of us are planning to meet/park at the garage under the Aloft hotel (spot 10 on the map) around 9:30am to suit up and walk over by 10:30am. Bring snacks and drinks if you’d like or check out White Lab Pizza which will be open with coffee, hot cocoa and some food items right near our parade line-up.

If you want to meet at the same parking garage, message me at 828-595-0504 and we can try to find each other (should be fairly easy to look for troopers getting dressed).

As far as after the parade, we were not able to secure any transportation so one of us could walk back to get a vehicle for the others, or we all just walk back (about 1.4 miles or less). I’m sure it will be full of “can I take a selfie?” moments.

Remember no blasters, please, but you can hand out candy, stickers, trading cards, etc.

Weather looks like low 50s and clear! Post questions below!

  9. Super fun troop and despite distance and an occasional strong gust of wind, a fantastic first foray into this particular parade. Here’s some video (our segment starts about 1:10:00). Poor announcer had a hard time saying “501st” haha. Had a few non-members representing R2-DKrewe as well, our local Asheville Mardi Gras Parade squad! (Watch for that event sign-up closer to February 2024)

Thanks to: James, Jordan (and Flynn), Phil, Brandon, Donna, Don, Alexander, Winston and Abbie (as our handler)!

Tom (X-wing), Sean (Din Djarin), Charles (Mandalorian) were a great addition and quickly becoming local honoraries!
