Dear Members of the Carolina Garrison and Crimson Sky Squad,

Thank you for nominating me to be the Crimson Sky Squad Leader for a third year in a row. I feel very honored to know that the squad has the confidence to nominate me once again.

To introduce myself to any new members, my name is Trevor Peters. I joined the 501st Legion just under three years ago and have enjoyed every second of it. I am a highly active member and have already completed close to one hundred troops in just two years.

To give some insight into who I am, I have been a Star Wars fan for as long as I can remember and am an avid gamer. My professional background is in metalworking, fabricating, and welding; for the last three and a half years, I have worked in 3D printing, specifically with metals. I take a hands-on approach to things and have always gone out of my way to help people. Joining the Legion gave me a way to become two of my favorite characters while helping charities and bringing joy to others.

One significant thing I have learned over the past three years is that I am autistic, a realization I only came to at the age of twenty-eight. Understanding this has helped me realize I am not just “the weird guy” with communication struggles; rather, being part of the Legion has dramatically helped me improve in areas like social interaction and written communication. It has been an absolute pleasure meeting all of you, and I hope to help bring in even more new members in the future.

One of my primary goals for Crimson Sky Squad is to reach out to charities, children’s hospitals, and conventions to form a network of trust. My hope is that we become requested annually or even multiple times a year. In my first year (2024), I brought in roughly 15 troops to the Carolina Garrison, with 75% requesting us again in 2025. Last year, I brought in about 8 new events, and 3 have already requested us again for 2026. Forming these connections helps the reputation of the Legion grow and leads to even more opportunities.

Another goal is to help our internal community thrive. While I understand you cannot force people to like one another, I want to see everyone remain kind and cordial. During troops, I do my best to rally everyone so we all have a good time. If anyone has an issue, you are free to come to me. I will always do my best to mediate or find someone who can help solve the situation.

To share a bit more about my passions, my absolute favorite troops are children’s hospital visits, followed by charity events. I will always choose these over a convention. There is a deep feeling of fulfillment in knowing that, even for a couple of minutes, you made a child smile during a very tough time.

I want the very best for Crimson Sky Squad and the entire Garrison. Whether I have the title of Squad Leader or not, I will continue to be the same person I have been for the past two years. I want to build a strong community where we all get along and have fun. Costuming is a hobby, and if you aren’t doing it with a smile, it becomes a burden; I want to help avoid that by creating strong camaraderie.

I look forward to answering any questions you may have.

      Thank you,

      Trevor Peters
