SUMMARY:Novant Health Betty H. Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital Visit
DESCRIPTION:The Garrison has been invited to visit the Betty H. Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital in Wilmington. Unlike some of the larger hospitals in the Research Triangle, Maynard, or Duke, this facility does not have multiple wings or large patient areas. Because of this, our visit will primarily focus on interacting with patients, families, and staff in the main lobby.

If individual patients express interest, our members are happy to participate in limited room-to-room visits to bring cheer directly to those who would like it. Otherwise, the central emphasis of this appearance will be lobby-based interaction—meeting children, families, and hospital staff, taking photos, and spreading positivity through Star Wars characters.

This event is also an opportunity for the 501st to build a relationship with hospital staff, with the hope of returning for future visits and supporting the hospital through donation drives and community outreach efforts.

Important: Anyone signing up for this event must bring a valid driver’s license (or state-issued ID). Hospital security will need to make a copy for a quick background check before allowing entry into the facility.
