DESCRIPTION:We’re holding the party in January because many people travel throughout the holiday season from November through December. I also held a poll in the command chat, and most felt that January was the better month for a get-together. This timing gives more people a chance to attend without competing with travel or family plans.

I wish we could gather everyone in one place, but I understand that right after the holidays money can be tight and our territory is spread across two states. That makes it difficult for a large group to travel. Even so, this felt like a good opportunity for a modest get-together to relax, have some food, enjoy a beer if you want one, and play a few games together.

Everyone will provide their own food and drinks. We’ll be doing a Dirty Santa gift exchange. Bring a wrapped gift valued at about twenty dollars. The first person opens a gift, the next person can open a new one or steal an opened one, and this continues until everyone has a gift. A gift can only be stolen twice before it is locked.

Feel free to bring coins, patches, and trading items. This is a casual gathering to spend time with fellow members and enjoy the start of a new year.

The venue is simple, but most event spaces required a two thousand dollar rental and catering fee. This was my first time coordinating the party, and I plan to improve it next year.

I hope you can make it, and I look forward to a relaxing evening with whoever is able to attend.
